I would really like to know what kind of paint that is, I'v never seen a silver on the market that comes out with that much luster, and I'm a professional painter.

And Silent I didn't know you were a prof. painter. Did you go to school for it? I'm starting next fall in collision repair and refinishing..that's a 2 year course then after that I'm thinking about taking some more classes on body work..I guess I'll see how it goes. Has the business been good to ya?

trade school, Business is ok, I have my own shop but I'm trying to get out of doing it full time as its been really slow around here lately and theres about 4,000 people in this area and probably 20 body shops so thats a ratio that doesnt work in my favor.

Im going to votec school in august i was going to go last semesterbut i moved out of town when i go back there in june im going to start..Body work and painting is so freakin geasy its not even funny ppl thinks its actually a job lol a easy job to me..I helped my brother do his convertible integra he placed it in nopi nats race wars 2nd place in wild division in bristol tenn..the paint on it is purple marvelized house of kolors paint you gotta take plastic wrap to it to give it a swirl bowling ball look..plus there is some good money in body work if you got your own shop..

fender benders are easy, collisions are not easy. Its alot of work, it pays well when theres work, but when theres no work... well you spend all day posting on internet forums.

i wonder what the cops would say if i chromed my whole car and did 80% mirror tint.... :grinyes:
looks cool (like it cost an arm and 3 legs).

TheSilentChamber
11-13-2004, 11:32 AM
well 80% mirror tint is pretty much see through.

quiXilver
11-13-2004, 04:38 PM
so did anyone ever find out how much that would cost? he said something like 400 hours of labor, that right there would be at least $16,000...

..uah..i knew that...(not really)..lol lets just think of that in opposite

TheSilentChamber
11-13-2004, 06:58 PM
heh, tint is measured by how much light goes though. 100% being all light goes through, 0% no light goes through. Lower the percentage the dark it is. I have 2.5% on my house windows. I can walk around ass naked in the middle of the day and nobody can see me ;)

11-13-2004, 07:15 PM
wow... now we know what silent does in his spare time haha

Quixilver... he said it cost about 1/2 the value of the car.... :eek2:

TheSilentChamber

I have 2.5% on all the west facing windows in my house, sun sets on that side, keeps it from getting as hot inside during the summer. Plus I can enjoy my favorite pass time... walking around naked with the blinds open.
