random switch

Okay so Ive got a 1996 Contour its a automatic.
Ive got the usual shifter, with the release button and overdrive button. But then right next to the shifter on the console is a seemingly random on and off switch.
I havent the faintest idea what its for...
Ive read the manual forwards and backwards but no mention of the switch.
Its not traction control, thats on the console under my lights.
I dont think its the over drive because ive got the regular button for it.
Anyone else have this mystery switch?

sounds like the previous owner installed a switch.
