My 2001 Dakota club cab has a problem with the headlights. The headlights turn on just fine if the truck is not started. However, if I start the truck and then turn on the lights the driver side low beam does not work. I can turn on the lights and then start the truck and both lights work fine but if I switch to high beams and then back to low beams the driver's side light doesn't work. I took it to a dealership and they said I needed a new central timer and were going to charge me $370 to fix it. Anyone have any ideas on this problem? Is there anything else in my truck that may be affected by this central timer? Please let me know if anyone has any ideas. Thanks

the central timer module activates the lights according to the multi-function. I believe that the dealership has monitored the mux voltage from the multi-function switch to the ctm that why they consider if to be faulty.. if the mulit function switch was faulty it would be both beams... the ctm has 1 low and high beam driver for each side lamp...
