I got a 94 SL, and when I lock the doors w/ the remote it says security in the dash. WTF does it do for security...besides automatically lock the doors 15 seconds after I unlocked them and started the car and closed the doors to let it warm up for a minute, making my remote useless and locking me out of my car, making me late for class, and having to call Triple A!!%!@$^%??? :chair:

after about 20-30 seconds after locking your car and the "security" light coming on, if you try to open the car up w/o a key an alarm goes off.

my idiot car relocks itself too, but i've not seen a warning or had any alarms go off.
and the thing is, it doesn't always do it, just sometimes...

Mine gives me about 30 seconds to open the door or turn it on once inside, it sounds as if your only getting a few seconds is this true?

The only time my car locks by itself is when I start the car with the doors close....then it locks about 5 secs after the car starts. It only does that because of my Viper Alarm. Before the alarm, my car never locked itself and the "security" feature is just a factory "alarm." Sounds horrible....hehe....

Mine locks about 30 seconds after unlocking it, but I can't get my alarm to go off after arming it. Where's the horn/speaker supposed to be located for it so I can check if someone disconnected it before I owned the car.

You mean the alarm goes off and you can't turn it off? If so then just stick your key in and unlock the door. Not sure about where the car horn is as I still have received my CD MANUAL yet. Ugh....that guy lags! Haven't responded to my e-mails either.... :(

No, I mean I can't get the alarm to sound, it's really useless if someone is trying to break into my car and nothing sounds! All it is so far is a hassle. Once I put money into it, i'll probly go for a Viper alarm, with the pager feature!! But until then i'd like to be able to use what's supposed to be in there working.

Ah I see..... I was trying to figure out how to sound the alarm to when I first got it. If you roll down your windows and set the alarm, you could open the car down from the inside and when you do that, it should go off. Yeah, the Viper alarms are pretty cool just a bit pricey....but it's worth it I think. The two-way paging is awesome but you'll be replacing your battery every 1.5 months or something. So unless if your place has a high crime rate, you'll probably eventually turn off the paging. I did because I hated replacing the batter all the time....

I was late for class one day and was getting out of the car and I hit the lock button, it wouldn't lock so I kept hitting it, and it would just unlock by itself. So I started doing it manually, I was getting frustrated, and I forgot what I did but I finally got it to lock and closed the door. So, after class I'm goin back out to get my scrubs to go to gross lab and I reach in my pocket to get my keys, damn! no keys, I look in the window my keys are still in the ignition. So I call triple A and now know if something isn't working right the car must be telling me something. I was mad as hell, cuz I didn't have AAA but my friend did so we worked it out cuz it would have cost me 45 bucks to get someone else to do it.
