headlights and dash lights blink

while i'm driving my headlights and dashlights blink as thouh they are going to shut off. my guess is that it's electrical but if anyone could shed some light on what the problem might be i'd appreciate it.

is there anything specific that causes this? Like when you turn on the radio, or push the gas kinda hard anything like that. More than likely it's probably your alternator. Have it checked out at your local parts store.
