Can Someone Help Me With This Problem Plz?

I have a 95 tsi awd, last night the car ran sweet!!! I get up for work this morning and start down the road and the car starts sputtering like its miss firing or something. So i watched the gauges going down the highway, i noticed i could not boost over half way without the car sputtering. Cannot give more than maybe half throttle. I changed the plugs at work that didnt help. Could i have a major boost leak? Maybe bad spakplug wires or a bad case of gas or starving for fuel when i hit the gas. But like i said i cannot boost over half. But the car will run fine down the highway at 75mph as long as you do not try to give it to much gas.

I Would do a boost leak test first, since the only way to really "test" the wires is to put new ones in. And its not uncommon for parts store wires to fail on install. Either problem will give you the problem you describe. Also, make sure the plugs are gapped properly (~.030). Out of the box they are almost ALWAYS gapped wrong (too big).

Ok i will try that tomarrow, when i make this tester where do i plug into the piping?

ok cool thats what i thought, i remember people talking about that site but just couldnt remember the site, i remembered how to make the tester tho.
lol. Oh i didnt say this before but just idling and reving the motor it does sputter slightly maybe not alot because of no load, hopefully all it is, is a boost leak i just dont understand tho why it would happen just by sitting over night!!

My guess would be plug wires--the same thing happened to me. Car drove like shit under load, but revved smoothly in neutral. Check for cracks in the insulation on your current wires. Or it could be the plugs themselves, like Kevin suggested.

one way to check for your wires shorting is to start the car and while its running spray water on the wires if it starts sputtering when the wires are wet then your wires are wearing out and shorting to ground and/or crossfiring to another plug wire.

ok here is a update on my situation, comming to work and still sputters, when the car is just idling it sounds like it is miss firing, when you first take off it sputters then clears up, it will stay running fun until you give it to much gas then it stutters, the car does not chug or anything just feels like its running on 3 cyl. Could a sensor be bad? or could the spark plug wires cause these problems? I rule out the o2 sensor since it has been bad for like 7 months and i have not done a boost leak test yet but just at idle skipping i dont think its that, but i will try leak test later anyways since kevin said try that before anything else.

same thing happen to me, and i did everything they said and it still didnt help, so i checked my fp and it was way low, so i ran a hot wire to my fuel pump and sure enough that was it there was a wire loose somewhere on my 255 so that could be it just check your fp and look at your wires on your fuel pump. it could be just that easy

well thanx alot guys for your replys, joemathews hit it on the noes, my wires were bad!!!! Who would have thought tho that at idle it would skip then when i hit the gas a little it clears up until i try to give more than 1/2 throttle but whats wierd tho is it would not break down at any rpm as lon as i didnt try to give it to much gas. I would shift from 5th to 4th about 70mph to try to figure shit out and running high rpms didnt bother. Well i learned something new lol sparkplug wires can go half bad? lol
