I own a 1992 RS, 305 fuel injected v8, don't have much money being a new mom and I just wanted some tips on what I can do with like exhaust, etc. Any suggestions???? :iceslolan

well you have a rs so it's tbi right, well you could start by getting a k&n air filter, 160 stat, ac delete, pulleys, throttle body bypass, flowmasters, that should give you a few extra ponies

I would start by a catback exhaust system and a better breathing air filter. Exhaust brand really isnt important its more of a sound thing and $$$

one thing i definatly felt made a difference was headers. they arent too expencive, and aside from the time they take up to install, they arent that hard. the only pain in the ass is the bolt on the passenger side closest to the firewall. better breathing intake and exhaust are a great place to start. aside from that, probly a new aftermarket cam will be the most noticeable difference, and maybe a set of heads.

also i dont remember but your RS is an auto right babe??? in that case i would say have the tranny rebuilt with a B&M transkit and a 2000 stall converter with lockup. setup the tranny with the stage two settings, and put in a corvette 1st - 2nd servo. You should be able to find a tranny guy who will do this on the side for a few hundred bucks, especially if you supply all the parts. i think the breakdown is as follows.

B&M transkit = 400
Corvette servo = 16
converter = 135
labor = 200

so i spent around 750 bucks for a bulletproof tranny that will handle up to 600hp. and man, afterwords, it was just amazing, she scared the hell out of me the first time i drove her, there is definatly a real difference you will not only feel, but have to get used to. lol.

oh, and i forgot, one of the reasons my labor was so low, was i worked with the guy, and pulled/installed the tranny myself. i just didnt trust myself to build it. so your labor might be a bit more. so yeah its kinda expencive, but i guarantee, youll feel that a helluva lot more than just about any power mod you make to the engine.
