I have beens seeing all sorts of complaints about lack of support and resources for service on stock stereos, especially gm. The best site place I have found for stereos is www.discountoemradios.com. You can get a whole new unit usually petty cheap. The last one I purchased was from an 2003 olds alero, still working, for $5 plus shipping, which was 11.50. I needed a knob and two lights for a customer and I charged him just the labor and $4 for parts, and everyhting else still works. Most stock lights are very simple to replace with minimal skills. I have been repairng consumer electronics. I am happy to answer, to the best of my ability, any questions anyone might have.

I'm of the personal opinion that AC Delco can rot in hell, but that's just me... I mean, when displays are burning out on '02 and '03 models that easily, you know there's something wrong with the build quality. And when dealerships are charging in excess of $400 for them, it just seems rediculous.

Anyways, just ranting... If they can be repaired for cheap, then that's another option for the average consumer that doesn't want to shell out for a new radio. Hey... Do you think you could repair a JBL 1200.1 subwoofer amp??? :)
