SL and Vr4...

hum i'm lost with these 2 models

SL=1990-1993
Vr4=1994-1999
is that true ? or i'm just confused

91 - 93....base/sl (same thing) 222 hp dohc
91 - 93....vr4 300 hp @ 9 psi stock

94 - 96....base/sl 222 hp dohc
94 - 96....vr4 320 hp @ 11 psi stock

97 - 99....base 100 something hp sohc
97 - 99....sl 222 hp dohc
97 - 99....vr4 320 hp @ 11 psi stock


sohc - single overhead cam
dohc - duel overhead cam

Which Year is that model?

That is a 92 SL, however he has a bodykit and aftermarket rims...so a typical 92 SL wouldn't look like that.

as a 1st car, VR4 are too exepensive, i'll have to go with a SL so I think i'll try to get a '92

Not without forced induction..ie turbos or superchargers or Nitrous...check the FAQ for further info on modding.

ok another question, what are the differences with the model ? ( the looking of the car, not the performence )

91-93 flip up headlights
94-99 projector headlights

base - no leather seats, not as many creature comforts such as cd changer

SL - Leather and I believe it comes with a cd changer
(SL Stands for Sound and Leather) <-- just kidding

as far as spoiler types, I know hoop spoilers weren't intoduced until after the 94's came out, as to how much after I don't really know.

pretty much depends on whether you want your car to "look more like a ferrari or not" if so, than get a 91-93, if not get a 94+ :-p

And he has a 97+ spoiler.
