My friend in university is such a rich kid its just not fair, he doesnt have a job but his parents buy him a brand new celica .... >.<.... but at least im making money off him, i detail cars as a hobby for some extra cash and get between 25 and 50 dolalrs per car, plus im also installiing a new head unit in his car for 50 bucks, lol, heill pay for anything, i should charge him extra for some fake ricer sounding crap. pisses me off, and he doesnt even treat cars properly, he sits there bouncing off the rev limiter and uses the emergency brake to drift into car parking spaces. >.< DICKHEAD!

my friend sold his Integra for $2000 and his parents bought him a brand new Toyota Matrix. another friend had his parents buy him a brand new Lancer (not an EVO, though) and they pay for all his ricey-ass mods too.

meanwhile here's me, who had to borrow money from a friend just to buy a $1000 car and who's parents won't even let me BORROW money (that i would pay them back) to buy a $2-3000 car.

:(

Dont hate him because he's rich, hate him because he's a spoiled bitch

Yeah - hating him because of jelousy will only demean you. Hating him because he's a jackass is perfectly normal.

a kid i know has a civic hatchback with an H22 prelude engine in it. he told his parents that he wanted to look for a winter beater cuz his car can't drive in the snow. so they bought him a red 6 speed '02 Audi S4 in addition to his civic. i was awestruck when i heard.

josh and yogs have got it right, and crack me up at the same time.

a celica is still around 20k if its the GTS. and its free! that is a big deal in my mind. i am still a few grand in debt because of my cobra.

suislide, you just gotta build that credit. it takes years. i am only a few years older than you and i have a terrific credit score.

Well I'm in college and I don't work, but I'm not rich. My dad was smart and invested wisely for me when I was born. Granted my family isn't hurting for money any longer. If you hate him so much how can you consider him a friend. Hating someone because of what they have is stupid and ignorant. I've had a few kids(which I knew all my life) have shit against me b/c they thought I was rich but they're family actually has a lot more than mine. A whole lot more.

By the way is he an only child? I am, and that's part of the reason some kids seem to get more.

The worst thing is when them rich boys don't appreciate everything they are given. I have a really good friend thats in that "rich kid" category. Every car he had, mom and dad bought for him, they just got him a pre-owned 00 Maxima SE which was around 14K i believe. Everything is paid for, insurance, rent etc.

He does appreciate all of it though...but damn does it make me pissed sometimes. Especially the fact that when you are brought up with basically NO father, nothing paid for, you miss out on ALOT. I mean, i dropped out of high school in 10th grade to get a job, and support my own shit-there was NO way else. I give my mother money every week for food, every month for rent (me, my bro, and my mom in a 1 bedroom apt) and it just plain sucks sometimes. I don't even have my own room man-that sucks. When ever my bro has work, and I'M off, i got a room-which sucks. This is absolutly horrendous when i meet a girl, i have to make sure SHE has a room..for the boom boom..

My goal, i HAVE to get my own studio apt.. I accomplished getting my OWN car..and MY OWN Insurance, now, i need to get on my own. This will be a struggle, but worth it in the end.

PS.. Well, atleast i'm good looking.. :-) No Money in this world can make you feel happier than when girls come up to YOU..

Man i look at my entire family, and alot of friends, and i can honestly say i got f***** out of ALOT. You must always look at the positive in all situations though-try not to be pissed at the world ALL the time.

I'm failing to understand something here. You obviously have a lot of distaste towards this person, yet refer to him as your friend. To me this says one of two things:

1. You like him but are envious of what he has, therefore hating for what you don't have.

or

2. You have real issues with the way he flaunts his money around (i.e. the way he acts about it by making sure you know that he DOES have money).

I'm leaning more towards option one. Perhaps you could clarify this for me. If you are envious of a friend because of what he has and you don't, you need to grow up. If he treats his things like shit, that's his own ignorance. I mean, yeah it's frustrating, but you aren't the one fitting the bill for the new things, his parents are. THEY need to realize the mistake, not you. I've got friends who have way more than I'll ever have as far as material possessions, but that isn't why I'm friends with them, and I don't hate them because of it. I value their friendship, not what they have that I don't.

Jealously, thats pretty much what it all comes down to, everyone is guilty of it. I know I sure as fuck would be jealous if someone I knew was handed a brand new car for nothing, but hey ya gotta work with what ya got.

11-03-2004, 11:36 PM
of course im jealous and thats why im letting this out in stress release cause i work for everything i have and earn it and yet i see so many kids who don't. And yes it is a little of 2 as well, like the way he lokos at the highest price that i charge for 4wd's when i detail cars and he says things lke "whoa man, i like spend that every week to get my car cleaned, plus more for the wax" id be ok about it if he actually respected what he was given, and Musashi im hepped up about it even though its a celica because its his first ever car, he didnt get his licence till recently cause he got taken everywhere by his parents in their x-5. I feel up beat about it now anyway cause i know im earning what i have, and it makes it feel better and lets me respect what ive got.

I have a friend that doesn't have to work at all and gets all kinds of different four wheelers and a brand new Tahoe Z71. I don't hate him for it, I'm happy for him that he gets to do whatever the hell he wants. I mean, I wish it was me but it's not so why make a bad thing out of a not that bad of thing at all. Oh and his dad bought me a fourwheeler to use at their place in WI, the guy just has more money than he knows what to do with...I say good for him for working his ass off.

off their bad habits eg. snorting and smoking things. Some of those rich boys have so much money they dont know what to do with it and they spend it all on snowflakes if you know what i mean

Z28Josh: Come on.. i'm not always like that :D but trust me, when you see all the stuff other kids have that you dont when you're a youngster its depressing. It makes you a different person, more amitious to make money

No I know a kid whos rich. He was talking about how hes going to sell his brand new C6 (Ive seen it on campus) (he also got a ticket for doing 200mph, spent a night in jail and 4000$) because it just isnt as fast as his last car. A doge Viper. I mean Im driving a 91 pontiac with almost 100k miles and hes talking about selling a car with about 3k miles beucase it just isnt fast enough.

there is a difference between rich and spoiled rich kids.
The rich kids are expected to provide for their future families equal or better than they were provided for. This can be a rather daunting task.

Spoiled rich doesn't think about the future and only focouses on material possesions.

Yet another pointless, hateful thread.

Envy truly is the most pointless reason to dislike someone. Maybe you could find out this guy is your friend. I guarantee you he isn't happy himself; why else would he be showing off? Go to college, get a good job, and maybe your kids too can be lucky enough to live like your friend there.
