If i were to get 2 12"s with 1200 watts each some 6x9's with 220 watts and some 4x5's with 130 watts. How many watts would i need for in my amps and how many. Also this may be a stupid question but whats the difference with 2-way speakers and 3-way speakers, and whats with the different channel amps?
Thank you for your help

Most speakers are 2-ways, or coaxials with a single tweeter mounted above the cone of its woofer.
If you like more detailed vocals and midrange frequencies, a 3-way (a triaxial) adds a midrange driver for improved clarity. A 4-way adds a supertweeter for even more detailed high frequencies. (Some 3-way speakers use a supertweeter instead of a midrange.)
2 12's an amp for those, 6x9's an 4x5's and an amp for those for 5-600 hun.? for good quality products it will be pretty hard to get in that range.
You can get one good 15" or one good 12" and an amp for $250, thats on www.edesignaudio.com Combo #1. (2) 12's or (2) 15's and an amp will run u close to $500, but still good and respectable products. Pioneer Rev. 6x9's are sum sweet speakers for only 100 bucks. i dodnt know bout no 5x4's but u can get sum 6 1/2 pioneer A1670R's for like 50 bucks....

The difference between different channel amps is the wiring options. Mostly, there are 4 channel amps, 2 channel amps and Mono amps. 4 channel amps are mainly used to power up to 4 speakers, one channel per speaker. 2 channel amps can power 2 speakers, or be bridged and power one(4 channls can be bridged also). and Mono blocks are used for powering subs.
