My grandma just gave me and my little brother an early Christmas present of $750 each. We were thinking about going out and buying a couple Revos and racing them around in our backyard. I've never had a Nitro powered RC car/truck before so what do I need to know or does the truck come with a good manual that explains everything??? Are there any websites that I can check out aftermarket parts for these things??? If we do get these we'll be getting them from a local hobby shop that I know will do some breaking in and tuning for free or very little money. Thanks in advance!!!

traxxas sends very good instructions for breaking in and tuning and regular maintanence. They even include a dvd.
If i was you I would break it im myself EXACTLY like they advise, they might break it in diffrently.

you can also check www.traxxas.com, they have a fourm specificly for the revo and all of their other products. I have learned a ton of info from there. (It is very active) You might want to scan a few threads there to see what to look out for with the revo, like the differential failure that has caused a recall. This is only in an isolated few so don't let that stop you from buying an awsome truck.
I have had mine for a few months now and treat it like crap but it keeps asking for more.
If you have any more questions just ask or pm me. I'm glad to help.

i think that if its your first rc i would get the emaxx and all excessories for that, its cheap and personally i've owned both nitro and electric, and i prefere electric, its just easier to me, but if your not a beginner to rc and you've had enough expeirence with electric, i would try nitro.

btw-find a kid at school or a friend that knows a lot about rc engines or has a couple, it helps out tons if its your first nitro, because with most nitro's, problems are going to be inevitable.

Ok thanks for the input guys. I have a friend that has a kit truck that he had put together for racing so he can help me as far as tuning and stuff.
I've checked out Traxxas's website quite a bit over the last week and I didn't realise they had a forum...I will be checking that out. I really enjoyed the vids of the Revo rippin' it up, those are what made me and my bro wanna buy one.
