Hey, Iam new to this modelling thing. I got an airbrush and all. Its a Tamiya, gun style. Iam working on a Tamiya Rx-7 R1. Iall post pics on my progress as soon as I get these questions answered:
1) What is clear coating?
2) Best type of brushes?
3) Best type of decal solution?
I have very very limited acess to the internet at the moment.

if you've never modeled or airbrushed before i'd suggest doing your first model in spray paint as its a little easier to "get right" for your first try. good luck with the project!

Hi and welcome to AF
1: Clearcoating is when you put a clear coating overtop of your finish, to seal in decals, or to make the paint finish appear deeper. Some people use it and some don't, all a matter of preference. Sometimes it is easier to polish out the clear than the color coat.
2: Depends on your preference, whatever works for you is the best brush. There are so many types and sizes that I cannot recommend just one.
3: Depends on the decals you are using. I try to use the MicroScale sytem (microsol and microset) I also use Solvaset if the decal is really stubborn, but always test on a scrap piece first to be sure.
4: Browse the "How-to" and FAQ sections for all your modeling needs.
