stupid people ?

You know what pisses me off, why is it that younger people (17-25) think they are hot shit no matter what they drive??? I had this kid the other day at the gas station giving my car these nasty looks and he got in his car (a 4 door taurus :rolleyes: ) with his friend and they smirked at me and left all fast like he was going to impress me. I mean WTF come on don't be pissy with me just cause you got to drive granny's car. Hey, I got no problem with anyone who drive anything but if you drive a crap box don't do stupid crap like nasty looks or revving up (unless you like getting your ass handed to you on a silver platter at a stop light). I know that there is a stress relief forum for this but it just hit me and I had to get it out right now. and I just happend to be here. sorry. :D does anyone else ever get this problem??

by the way I know my cars not the hottest thing on the planet, and I've got my ass handed to me b/4 too, but why is it that some people are like that?? It drives me nuts. I'm heading to stress relief now :D

yeah theres those types of people too unfortunately. I hate the people that got something pretty hot then act like they got to kick your ass just to prove something. theres this kid that works at the same place my dad does last summer and my dad said he was always talkin' shit about my car in the breakroom. my dad was like who the fuck are you? and this kid still was talkin' shit so my dad just gave up. he came up to me a couple weeks later and started talking shit to me about how his car (mid 80's mustang) was going to woop my ass I was like OK, I guess he thought I was going to get all pissed and be like no it not :p I mean what the hell are we 5 years old I'm not going to kill my ass street racing you just so you can try and prove something I mean for real. and it's not like either one of us was really fast ( like 14-15's in the 1/4) if you can really kick my ass I admire you, if you drive a really fast car you got my respect, but don't talk shit to me if you drive a stock car thats just as fast as mine just to try and sound cool. idiots :rolleyes: :mad:

That is so true. To make you feel better, when I turned 16 I got a piece of crap car ('82 Chevy Caprice). Still have it and still 16. Now I'm working my way up to a nice car, hopefully.

i have a '98 LS1, and the few weeks i had it stock, i had tons of POS pick-ups and family sedans just take off at lights right next to me like they wanted to race. Then i got a cut-out, and none of those have tried to race me, only people to race me are two stang 5.0's, one manual and one auto....i beat both even with them having a head start. I really wish more people could at least be humble when they have a fast car, not talk shit, just show people what it can do instead of saying it.

Yeah reminds me of this kid i know from high school. Thought his stock late 80's was teh fastest car in the world. He thought he could beat my towncar cause he beat another students old's 88 i believe which has a simalar engine and that but his had a carb and the 88 sat for 10 months and he didn't even clean the carb before they raced and he barely won so he thought he could beat me even though I've beaten cars much quicker than a grand am GT in my Lincoln. But this is the same guy who said he drove a 2001 Jag V12 :rolleyes: and he was gonna rent it when hes 17 :rolleyes: and thinks a car that makes 400 hp at the crank puts over 500 at the wheels :rolleyes: :rolleyes:, but oh well, thats why i never talked to the kid.

400 at the crank and 500 at the wheels not only is that kid an idiot for thinking it is that powerful but he thinks it has a magic drivetrain that accually gives you power instead of taking it away. wow if it has a drivetrain like that those disigners need to work for NASA:D . Yep I had the same thing happen to me today. I was enjoying a nice rare february top down ride and I hear a really nice sounding V8 behind me comming fast. I look back and it was a sweet WS6. So he floors it up to my passanger door slams the brakes and just keeps revin it next to me. He has a huge smile on his face and he keeps trying to get me to race. Yea ok dude my 1.8 liter non turbo miata is gonna be able to hang with your TA, what an idiot, i mean it was like why would i waste my gas. so he downshifts and takes off as if I should follow, what an idot. And like you said , just wait.....

i would like to say sorry for all the guys that own mustangs that are pissing you guys off. i once had a mustang while i was in high school.(i bought it my self, late model). i to use to try to race everybody under the sun. and i was pretty good, you know win some lose some. but i hummbled up after 9 speeding tickets in one year. i guess that sort of thing would do it to a man. and i never go a speeding ticket again until 3 years latter when i got my 95 silvia, and then it started all over again, me racing everybody, but this time i was in japan, so it was different, after only 3 speeding tickets, i woke up again(tickets are alot more expensive over there.) except to lose my car to a huge truck that wasnt paying attention, and to think that if i would have been speeding that day, i would still have her. and i wouldnt have these annoying back pains.
its not there fault theyre stupid. try to go easy on them.

I am DOING, that turbo is sitting in my garage as is the FMIC and all the other parts that I need. I am waiting for a good spring day to add it. You try driving a 260rwhp miata in the snow. And I'm not talking shit about other people at all, all I am saying is that it makes me mad that people challange others to race when they know that they can kill them. Its like me reving on a stock civic EX, whats the point, I know I can kill it.

I look at it this way. My car isnt a speed daemon, and it will never be one, but I have put in the wrench time and I can look back on it and remember times when it wasnt such a great car and it brings a smile to my face to think about all the work ive put in.

I could probably smoke alot of cars that are out there, but I rarely race and I dont need to race to prove my car's worth. I enjoy driving, and when Civics (im just using em as an example) pull up and rev at a light cause they see my dual exhausts and hear my deep idle, and the light goes green and they "speed" away and later point and laugh at me because they think they have beaten me, or that my car is nothing, then I just let out a little smile because I know I have the HP, but I dont need to always show it.

I dont gloat about my car because I know its limitations.

Also, no offence was ment to any owners of Honda Civics.

How about a 240hp 89 colt? see you can pick a fight huh? And also, i'm not sayng"just wait until its finished" either now am i? by the way, the most hp i've ever seen put to the rear wheels on a turbo miata is barely over 200...that is still daily"driveable" with airconditioning and all creture comforts such as door panels and carpet/decent radio

Does the dual exhaust really help? If had a single turbo car i would definitely have 1 HUGe pipe(2 1/2 to 3 inches) much much less back pressure and sleeperish. it only has to breathe through 1 high flow muffler instead of 2 small mufflers. Performance over looks, any day of the week, if it happens to look good and perform very well(referring to parts here) so be it. My definition of a ricer is anyone who concentrates on looks before performance and spends too much money doing so. By the way ur car does look pretty clean with those wheels.

Its not cheap, by any means. Lets just say the ECU with harware was over 2k, and the turbo kit is over 3K, not to mention the volks, and all the suspention. And for the record the current exhaust setup is going on my dads miata. I am having a custom 3" turbo back system made so that backpressure isnt a problem when I do my internals and can crank up the boost to 15~18 psi. At that point I should hit 300rwhp, but then I'll start snapping tannys left and right. Then i have to fork out the cash to have one cryo treated, no one makes a highperformance trans for the miata yet

Oh and the current dual setup on my car is thorugh a single muffler much like that of a late model Z28. Its just looks cool in my opinon to have the two 3.5" tips, so i am having the custom done the same way, there is no loss in power, just a bit more weight. And as you can see in my website, its all about speed, I have no plans on changing the looks.

And about the letting the car run, my turbo in water cooled as well as oil cooled, and plus with todays synthetic oils coking isnt that much of a problem. I did spend the $100 on a turbo timer though, just something less to worry about. Plus its cool to walk away from your car and its still running and have people be like "you cars still running man" and just be like, "yup I know".
