Pointers / Diagrams / Help

Hi all, Our Starter in our 1999 Chevy s-10 Went this past weekend and we ordered one and it will be here Thursday, I am so nervous about replacing it. I am on a VERY limited income and this came at the worse time! (enough of sob story)
I am looking for advice or a diagram on how to Change the starter. If someone owns the Chilton or Hayes book, I would reimburse you if you could email / fax me the pages covering this. Anything I need your help!

THe first thing that you should do is check all the wiring going to your starter. I've seen several starters changed because of a dirty, or bad wire somewhere.

It's really illegal for any one to send you a copy of a page from a manual... but if you give us all an e-mail address you might just have the pages show up in your e-mail.

Your local Library probably has the books that you need too.

Oh the job isn't too hard, and you should be able to change the starter with just a metric socket set in less than an hour.

Oh Its the starter for the past year we have been babying it, there is a flat spot and its stuck on it. We changed the plugs and wires Thanks again!

Let me know if you got every thing that you needed to change your starter. I'm about to re-install mine, and I might be able to send you some photo's or something that might help

We got it changed, Need tiny hands to get the wires off, but in all it was a fairly easy job! Thanks for your support!

How did you get the starter out? I was under the impression that you need to lift the engine to get it out of the passenger side wheel well... Your hints would be nice... ;)

You have to remove the brace that goes from the motor mount to the bellhousing, then 2 bolts, and 2 or 3 wires. It's really not that hard, You should see my ford tempo diesel... now that's hard

So do you still do the removal through the wheel well? If I had known that a year ago I would have done it myself!
