What type of pulley puller are you using??

If you are using a Thrasher or South Florida Pulley, the flat side goes to engine. Thrasher even has their name pointing out.
As far as the nut goes, used inpack. Sprayed it the night before. Came right off. Let's see what everyone has on that.

Is the issue that your pulley is spinning while trying to loosen the nut?? If so, wrap your old sc belt around the pulley and grip it with a pair of vise grips. This should hold the pulley in place while you loosen the nut. It shouldn't take that much to loosen it. Mine came right off with just a 21mm wrench.

Let us know how it turns out. One pointer on your pulley install-- be very careful to exert an even amount of force on the puller when removing the pulley. The M8 studs have a tendancy to shear off if you really crank on it. Good luck.

Just get some rubber gloves on and hold the pulley by hand and have a buddy try to losen the Nut in the center on the pulley...the nut does not hold the pulley on, it has a hole in the center of it and it is just a breather nut....also make sure you use alot of ANTI-SEIZE.

Squeal could be caused by not having the pulley completely seated. It has to be flush with the end of the s/c shaft. If it's off even a little bit, the s/c belt won't align correctly.
