the escort seems tobe a reliable, decent little car with good all round milage and integrity, but they all seem to be pretty independent of each other when it comes to the specs.. if its cheap, has litttle rust, runs good, shifts good, then its likly pretty good..

If you're talking about power. the 90 GT gets 110 hp by 5400 rpm, and 124 tq, I think, at 4200, I think. It's a good engine, strong bottom end, and they're reliable.

I believe that ExplodedCow has been misinformed. From start of production the GT has had 130 hp. The Lx and Gl from start to 1990 has had 88 hp. From 91 to finish the Lx pulls a 110 and the GT at 135 hp.

I own a 93 LX daily driver and have owned and 94 GT, till the internals went all over the track. Now it have an SVT crate in it. (Giddy up)

But after all is said and done I would suggest that you get the GT. But it is up to you and just made sure you test drive both to see what you want.

Um, I have not been misinformed, unless the manual I have for '81 to '90 models is completely wrong. The CFI 1.9 engines are rated for 90 HP at 4600 rpm, and 116 torque at 3400 rpm. I know this because that's what I own and drive. The GT models with a EFI 1.9 in them were rated for 110. Mind you this is with all things running, so real world is probably different. And where are you getting your figures Escort Service, because I have NEVER heard of those numbers for stock '90 Gt, out of any manual, and I've been working on early model escorts for many years.

What are the HP/Torq/0-60 time for my 1993 manual LX Escort?

I'm not sure about 2nd gen. I work with gen 1's specifically, but since it's an LX, and using the same 1.9 as a gen 1, only with EFI, my guess is 90/116 at 4600 and 3400 rpm. That's my guess, though, so don't quote me on it. Like I said, I know Gen 1's best. And don't even bother asking me about Gen 3 Escorts. I know nothing about them, aside from the fact that a 2.0 spi head will fit on a 1.9 block.

Any quick fixes I could do to improve my cars overall performance?

It depends on what you're going to do. I think I just answered another of your posts, spikeystudd88, but what is your price range for new parts? How many miles are on the engine? What kind of performance or power do you want out of the thing? Are you wanting a pimp mobile, or a racer?
