There is no way that Bush will win California. It would be cool, but its more likely that I'll win the lotto (and I didn't buy a ticket).

It's still far too close to call, and anyone that believes otherwise must know something that the rest of the world[including the two main contenders and the entire voting public] doesn't.

One thing is certain though, unless there is a huge turnout, neither candidate will be able to honestly claim that they have a mandate from the people of America.

There hasn't been a mandate since Reagan handed Mondale his ass. No president has enjoyed a plurality of the potential voters since then. Whoever wins this won't either.

finally...we agree on something!

.....while we are on the subject of electoral stats though....when was the last time [before George] that the American people ended up with a president who had fewer votes than his rival? under any proper democratic process, George would have been sent on his way....

Its happend four times.

As a side note, Bush Sr. was the last president to win with more then 50% of the vote. http://encyclozine.com/U.S._presidential_election,_1988

There are lots of Democrats within the US, and why not? They are easy to find, they are the ones that want to make their problems, your problems.

Actually, it's not based on yours, and never has been.Oddly enough, democracy existed before America.Please....if you are going to make statements about other peoples countries, at least get your facts straight.Perhaps you could enlighten us at to which other nations use the electoral college system.....
