2g stock internals

whats the highest boost you can run on 46g3 stock internals? is it possable to get into the 11's without building the 2g's block & head?

Internals, like joe said, aren't dependent on boost. There are a few things that can't handle 30psi stock, like the headgasket. Otherwise, internals are based on power, or speed. Personally I know people that have run high 11's on a stock 7 bolt, and in colorado, high 12's on a near-maxed evo 16g. That's what, 350whp or so? For record breaking, did you hear of the guy on DSMlink forums who did 550whp on stock internals? The engine didn't explode until a fuel pressure regulator vacuum hose came off and he went lean (like kevin :) )

Yeah, internals blowing out is all about cylinder pressure. Power is a good indicator of cylinder pressure, but knock really jacks it up. You can be at low HP but high knock and destroy parts naturally. But there are a lot of people running deep into the 11s on 7 bolt motors, well tuned. That guy on DSMlink going for 10s is pretty much all alone though :lol: SOmeday that might become the norm though. It wasnt that long ago that 20Gs were not streetable :D

yeah, sorry, that question wasnt well asked. your all right! i should have asked what the highest lb/min air you can push, assuming minimal knock and adequate fuel? running dsmlink on 2g stock internal 4g63 will defently alow for more reliable HP, i'm waiting with eprom ecu in hand for them to release version 3 here durring the begining of 05. i've already decited if i were going to spend the $ on a lighter weight crank, rods, pistions, valves, springs, retainers, cams, exc.. theres no reasion to do it on a 7 bolt. i'd just buy the 6 bolt and do it. but untell wishes become reality, wich that wont happen anytime soon, im going to use the stock internals and focus air/fuel mods.

i run 12's with stock internals with 20 psi

That doesnt mean anything, read my last 354,342,864 posts. Especially the one above about people running low 11s/high 10s on 7 bolts.


I would be comfortable with up to about 50 lbs/min. Over that I think is relatively uncharted terrotory. Even the guy menionted above going for 10s is on a 20g, which doesnt get much over 45 lbs/min. There is only one way to find the limit though, and thats to break it ;)
