I have plywood wrapped in carpet in my rear section and my car smells like a tree sometimes.. just wondering if I can coat it with something, preferrably odorless.

I would try unwrapping it and painting the wood in some sort of wood primer/sealer (and id do it outside the car so it doesnt smeel.. lol)

Are you talking about deck sealant stuff? Don't they have some kind of laquer smell though?

you could possibly think of fibergalssing it . hell it may be a little costly but it'd sure look better than plywood with carpet on it.

i used to paint and ive used it, and as long as the room had plenty of ventalation, once it dryed completely, it never smelled, could it be ur paint had gone bad?? I know most people think paint cant go bad, but if the paint get really cold, then hot quickly, it will go bad.

Maybe I'll just paint over it, that smell should probably go away after a little while.
