i know that the 93-97 pgt has the 2.5L KLDE @164hp and that the mazda j-spec is the KLZE @~200hp.....im not a probe person but my friend has a 94 pgt and i stumbled across this today and so im curious....my question is that what is the difference between the 2 engines. is it a better ecu?....better internals?......because if its not too drastic then it would be cheaper to replace the parts instead of doing the whole swap. If anyone knows the answer i would appreciate the info.

its a completely different motor, and fir the cost of wanting to replace the parts you could purchase the motor like 3x's over

ok how is it a completely different engine....there both 2.5L v6 dohc, the ZE is a direct bolt in swap and are for the same car...and in the pics they look identical. the only difference is that the ZE is the jap version. and what parts do you have to replace since it would cost 3X?????.....

Inlet manifold, Throttle Body, ECU (to get 200bhp), pistons, camshafts, plus a load more.

It is easier by far to just buy a KLZE.
