02 Escape - removal of rear outer hatch trim

I would like to remove the rear outer hatch trim piece on my fiance's 02 Escape. I see that there are 4 10mm bolts on there. I removed them, but the piece will still not budge. Do I just need to pull harder? I don't want to break it. Any advice?
