Ok guys...I have a 2002 Eclipse RS 5 spd. When im shifting into second really fast, it sometimes makes a grinding noise...it doesnt do it on any other gear, and it never tries to slip out of gear. I dont know what this is. Also, if i shift extremely slow, i can feel the stick make a clicking noise and it sounds like it is catching on something very lightly. I was reading about manual transmissions and there is supposedly something called "dog teeth" that helps line the gear up right, maybe this is the clicking/grinding. Maybe it just didnt line up right or something if i do it fast or slow.
Any Ideas?
PS. I only have 30k on my car.

dude...from what i know...you shouldn't be hearing any sort of grinding sounds...maybe you're letting off your clutch too soon...thats the only thing i can think of...

mine's the same way, i took it to the dealership because sometimes it wouldn't want to go in hardly at all, and YES the clutch was allllll the way in they said it was fine, i believe it just has to be warmed up and it shifts like a dream

actually thats normal. pretty much all the 5spd mitsu trannys do that. the sychronizers are messed up. i can hear the clicking noise of the transmission when im outside the car. try getting Redline transmission fluid. i heard that it helps out alot
