no accelaration

hey you guys i gave a 2000 GT with about 64500 miles on it and its being acting kinda weird lately. when in first gear i try to accelarate but only the rpms go up to like 4 and the car barely accelarates, it also happens when going into 2nd gear i let go of the clutch hit gas and rpms go up but car doesnt accelarate like it should. what do you guys think it could be? any help is appreciated.

hey you know what i think its my clutch. everyone's being telling me that its probably my clutch. got a 5 speed by the way.

check ur motor mounts!!!! cuz one of my mounts broke so my clutch started wearing down so fast and it sometimes disengaged in the higher rpms. so check ur motor mounts and let me know.

i'm going w/ the clutch thing, doesn't sound likes its engaging all the way and just letting the flywheel slip, i did that when it was wet one time 1st spinning, second spinning and third gear didn't spin at all, but the rpm still went up, its the crappy stock clutch, get a better one and check ur mounts and fluids, don't you have ur 60k milecheck done?

Something like this happened to me on my '00 eclipse GT a month or two ago, it stopped accelerating in the higherr RPM's. The problem ended up being "gunk" on the throttle body. Hope that can be of some help.
