Making my own intake tubes.

Does anybody know where I can buy some cheap 3 1/2 alum tubing?

I want to make my own intake system.

Also where can I buy the clamps and rubber hose to attach parts to it?

Have you tried a Plumbing shop or a shop that Sells Electrical Equipment. I'm sure they'll have everything you'll need. I imagine you'll probably want to rent a pipe bender if you plan on bending 3 1/2 tubing.

Yea, you will need a hydralic bender, i'm not sure about plumbing pipe sizes, but electrical conduit comes in 1/2", 3/4", 1", 1 1/4", 1 1/2", 2", 2 1/2", 3" and 4". These sizes are for aluminum intermident conduit and are measured using the ID (inside diameter).Have u considered "ALFLEX" conduit? or sealtight conduit? No bender needed for these.

the problem with flex is that it wont be smooth inside. It will cause a lot of turbulence. as far as bending goes, you will need a mandril bender or an aluminum welder and prebent 90's. an 855 or other electrical bender will have too large of a radius for this application.

I was thinking of buying a bender but you are right it would have wrinks for the 90 degree bend.

I wish someone would sell the 90 degree piece that I need.

That E-bay intake system looks like a short 30 degree tube and a longer radius 45 degree tube with the stock Mass air flow unit inbetween them, and what looks like blue rubber boots under the hose clamps. It says polished T-306 aluminum. I wonder if they are referring to the outside or inside of tubing. I have a freind that owns a machine shop, that specializes in pipe and tube bending/welding. To bad your not local, I would set you up.

That would rock if I had a place that could do it.
Around here they want to much money.

I guess I could make it out of really thin steel and then I can mig weld it.

Or I could get the alum welding kit for my lincoln....

You have the lincoln "weldpack 155"? So do I, great little unit, I don't have the aluminum kit. Have you considered stainless steel? You can go to any muffler/exhaust shop and they have large hydralic ram benders. They should do it for a very cheap price (like $10) of coarse u would bring your own aluminum.I had them bend a 2" (schedule 80) seamless chro-moly tube (this was before my freind got his shop) and they charged $5.

I bought that exact intake off ebay that you're showing. I would definately not hesitate buying that one... it's only 50 bucks plus ship and it will save you a ton of hassle on making your own.

Also, the tubing is bigger than 3.5 inches. i'm guessing 4 - 5 inches. Deffinately don't try to bypass the mass air flow sensor, from what i understand that will cause HUGE probs.
