Warning message - Restraint system - visit workshop

Hi,

I have recently accidently removed the key from the ignition of my automatic C-Class whilst the car was in Drive.

Immediately after doing this the car would not start and I could not insert the key into the ignition. After 2 hours I managed to get the master key in an received the warning message:

Restraint System
Visit Workshop!
SRS

Does anyone know how to clear this message? or if I really need to visit the dealership?

How did you pull the key out while the car was in drive? :eek7:

And yes, you do need to take it in to the shop. You'll probably have to have the ignition lock replaced.
