I have a 1995 Jeep Wrangler. Last Year my boss jumped started my car (left my lights on) and shorted out my car. I replaiced all the guses but my heat hasn't worked since. When I drive there is hot air coming out so I don't think it's the thermostat but the heater fan doesn't work! Any clue to what needs to be fixed?

There should be a seperate motor for your heater fan, you should be able to buy a used one and install yourself. I don't know about jeeps but I've done this on other vehicles.

Is that absolutely the problem? I mean.. In your opinion. I'd hate to be running in circles about this. Also, is a junk yard the onlyl place to get a used one?

I don't want to tell you that the motor is blown out as a difinate answer but if there is still heat coming out and there is no other leaks or temp. problems the motor would be my best guess. I just bought a repair manual yesterday and it I looked up your problem, it looks like a simple install. If you have a fax number I could try copying the pages and faxing to you. As far as used parts, a junk yard I know does not have many jeeps in them for they are a popular item. I'm from Alberta Canada and we have a great place to get used parts, problem is they only ship inside Canada. The sight can be found on page 2 or 3 of this forum under title of "Great site for Jeepers and 4x4s" I'm not a master mechanic and would hate to give you the wrong info. Good luck.

To see if its your fan motor, disconnect the connection to it, check for voltage across the terminals, it will vary depending on the control setting. I believe that there is a resistor in line with the fan, a Haynes manuel should tell you all you need to know. You can also check the fan by removing it and supplying a direct 12 dc to it, to see if it works or not.

I also have a 95 Wrangler and blew about 10 fuses from hooking jumper cables up backwards (mud on battery) My heater switch is only thing still does not work, I have bought new control untis and everything still no heat on unit, blows heater fuse instantly, I ran a wire from my fuse box, to a fuse, to a toggle switch, to the blower motor (was green wire with white strip) follow it from behind your heater control switch, only 5 wires back there and splice into it, if you need a blower motor still I got a brand new 1 here, just send a e-mail. Thanks hope that helps

Instead of fixing it yourself, though many are handy with car repairs, your car is not even 10 yrs old. I'd recommend taking it to a certified Jeep dealer to have them run a diagnostic to be able to properly repair it before the weather becomes severe.
