2007 240sx

well i cant remember if anyone has already talked about this or not....but SPEED magazine put on by road & Track has a pic of a concept 240sx and they say there is a 50-50 chance it will comeout. It looks like a 350z somewhat.....has the new age rounder body style if you get what im saying. But i guess it doesnt look bad for a new age sportscar....definently different but........

I hope the '240SX' is based on a shorter FM chassis. The car looks like it would be a shrunken G35 Coupe(notice the rear seats, and what could be a trunk, not a rear hatch like the Z) with styling cues from the 350Z.

Who knows what engine they'd use. Maybe the new MR20DE. :dunno:

Ooh, makes me think of the new eclipse. I wish they'd keep it closer to the lines the previous gens had, maybe look a little like an S15. It looks too high though. What happened to the sleek lines.

That's probably due to the different platform. That artist's rendering(I doubt it's really from Nissan) looks like it's trying to stick to the basic principles of the FM platform. Note the short overhangs, kinda tall roofline, etc.

looks like ass....i agree with Partizan...the new purposed 240sx looks like crap, the new eclipse looks like crap, and personally i think the new skyline "g35" looks like crap too.....they are all too off target from the previous generation they look nothing like the older models. i think it wouldnt hurt for these car companies to get some feedback from the public on what they think is the best looking generation and try to create a new model with similar characteristics instead of totally changing the look of the car. thats my 2cents

sorry, but that is just Fugly. looks like a Civic Si mixed with an Aveo

fuggin ugly as my dogs a$$!!! front looks like a 350z with the headlights and stuff, the rear kinda looks like a 350z, but the middle, is a BUBBLE!!! i hate it, if they lengthened it out a little bit and made it more stout, it would look decent imo

They would have to start over completely to make a decent car out of that mess. It's styled like some horrible Civic/Aveo/350Z/Echo/Prius/Eclipse prototype/crack addicted hobo all mixed into a terribly proportioned frame.

I don't think it's that bad. A lot will depend on how much power it will have, and how it will handle.

All new concepts look like a cross between the Aveo, Eclipse, and whatever else you said. lol

some of those cuts make me think this is the love child of an rsx and focus afta a heavy night of drinking and some mysteriously bright yellow midget... but it is a concept... and whoever had it should b fired then killed by a big yellow truck driven by a bright yellow midget upon leaving the building. :P

I never cared for the S15, with the boxed out rear fenders and the lines coming back from the headlights upfront, it always looked like a Skyline wannabe to me. Anyway, they aren't likely to build anything else because as it was said, they would be cutting into the their own sales of the base model 350Z, the Spec V Sentras and the Maxima. Frankly I think they should stuff a light, cheap, low end sporty RWD car in there to cover the spot the 240SX once did. Certainly not that thing though. It would have to be putting out like 450hp and handle like a F1 car to get me past that styling.

I don't like cars which have hoods either so tilted or short that you can't see the front of it while driving.

yeah, at least i think the g35 coupe looks well. Its not too bad. And abotu the new 240, hey, maybe it might catch on and be popular like a fashion trend. You never know. Now it might be opinioned as ugly but later on to different generations it could look cool.

i'm going to have faith in the idea that it is "ONLY A CONCEPT".. they can do much better than that.. i have the feeling that when they release the first model, it won't look so tall and narrow and they'll switch things up here and there (like the awful front end) to make it look a little more intimidating..

That thing looks like shit. I seriously hope it's just a concept. The biggest thing they need to hold onto is the long hood and the low roof styling. That is what's so great about the 240sx. They made it look like every other futuristic car. The new Skyline doesn't look bad, but it doesn't look like a skyline. I wish the companies would stay close to the roots of the popular vehicles. It would be nice if they stayed with the same engine platform aswell. Nissan should come out a revised I-6 rb26dett for the skyline, and bring a Silvia to the US with a revised sr20det, plus keep the cars looking similar to the previous models. :2cents:

Well, not everyone knows that stuff. I'm sure there are folks who haven't looked at a Skyline older than 1980-era. Every few years, the Skyline changed to a totally new chassis, kinda like the Evos have(1-3, 4-6, 7-9[probably]). The current Skyline is the new chassis.

The Silvia has probably done the same thing. There is a big difference between the S11 of the early 80s and the S15 that ended its production run in 2002. I bet there are quite a few folks who don't know that the S-chassis cars used a V6 engine for a while. Cars, especially Japanese cars(they get revised all the time), don't stay the same forever.

I hope the next Skyline follows the R32-R34 look and the next Silvia follows the S13-S15 look.

Well, it's a bit late for that, unless you mean the GT-R. The V36 is probably just going to build off of the V35's style.

Sorry Chuki breath, a meant the roots of the more current skylines. The 80's to the 90's. They all have similar styling. I know all about the history of the skyline, and personally, I love the 1966 Prince GT-B Skyline. I know more than you think about Skylines. The whole problem I have is that the new one that is supposed to come out looks like everything else. It looks nothing like a Skyline, not even similar, and looks like a crazy concept car very similar to all the others. One of the greatest things about the Skylines were that they weren't overly flashy. They were designed to be unique, great looking, and mellow. Not insane like the new one. I don't like the styling of most new cars, because they all look the same. And there are some styling cues from the r34 that are similar to the old 1966 gt-b.

What does a Skyline look like? Are you talking about just the ones made from '89-'02, or one of the six generations before them?

R32 to R34. Although, some old ones are nice, it would be cool if they integrated some cues from the old ones, I guess, someone said like the new Mustang.

i happen to like what the new skyline looks like. Remember the big dawg isnt even made yet...this is the base model. The bad boy will have the styling upgrades that all the previous gtr's got compared to the base models. Just wait people, damn you wont be disappointed. Have some god damn faith, i mean they did produce these bad ass styles already....so i think they could do it again sheesh dont hate.

a thing about the 240sx/silvia is that it alwasy had a linear charcteristic to it since the very first one (csp311???) this one is beggin to get socked in the face with a mallot. stupid cute/bubbly look

Plus , Nissan will not bring the 240 sx back… I said it once and I’m saying it again. It makes no sense to bring a car that is cheaper then there best seller (350Z + Q35) AND equal performance. Sure the luxury part is not the same but it will compete with there own line up. Why do u want that? Take the prelude for example, it was disconnected because it competed with the integra, and it cost more. Sure it had the larger motor but people go for the cheaper option. Pulse I think Nissan needs to focus on not making another RWD car but on making a hybrid car

(I don’t like them, I like RWD but I’m being realistic, almost every other jap car manufacture has a electric car on the market)

Take the prelude for example, it was disconnected because it competed with the integra, and it cost more. Sure it had the larger motor but people go for the cheaper option.
The problem with the Prelude and Integra was that there was not enough differentiation between the two, and not enough of an advantage to paying more for the Prelude. The Prelude wasn't popular enough, and sales numbers weren't good.
The sports car lineup at Nissan was just fine. The S-cars weren't discontinued because they were unpopular or cannibalized Z sales. The engine would not pass emissions anymore, so Nissan decided to can it for a while and straighten things out. Now that they have a new chassis and other engine options out there, Nissan can restore the entry level car to their sport lineup.

nissan has to "stay with the times" all the other hybid cars are selling and they just want a peice of the pie. Theres no way there going to change back to the 240s original look, they might incorprit some of there original designs...but I doubt it. in my opinion we'll all have to keep reparing are 240s untell they finally die out on us. 240s are a dieing breed expesially since everyone want to turn them into a ricer (with flames coming out the back lol that trend is the best) so unless all the other cars change there design I'm afraif nissans just going to go with flow and all we can do is hope and pray someone in upermanagment takes a chance and gives us what we want...just my opinion

I could care less what it looks like. As long as it's rear-wheel-drive with a well-balanced chassis and it weighs under 3000 lbs, it's all good.
