4runner engine swaps? 3.0 camry v6?

I am looking a t a friends 94 3.0v6 4runner. i can get a good deal on it, but one of the head gaskets is popped. I have priced the job at close to 1000, but was loking for another engine. there are a ton of camry v6's available...they are the same displacement..but the codes are different families...anyone done this?

the engine codes are:

4runner - 3vze
camry - 1mzfe?

I think the better swap is the 3.4L 4Runner/Taco engine.

thanks for the info...though i cant find many of those...would they bolt up to my existing tranny/transfer case?

how hard would it be to convert back to a decent 22re setup? i would probably need the engine, tranny, engine harness and ecu...right?

im thinking that a mildly built 22re would have decent power...a cam,head port, intake, and a header would possibly come close to the 3.0's power?

There is a campain/recall on alot of 3VZE V6 headgasgets (87-95 I believe) to where you can call dealer with VIN and ask them if it has been replaced (free of charge) and if it has not been done.....you can take it in and get headgasgets/motor replaced free of charge.
