fuel injected intake

I am in the process of swapping a fuel injected intake onto a previously carburated 350. All the holes line up but the angles are off. The new intake holes are bored straight down while the threaded holes on the heads are angled. This only applies to the four centered holes. The end eight bolts will fit and torque with no problem. Is it possible to machine the four holes to match the angles on the heads and still be able to get the proper torque on them? I was hoping not to swap the heads from the motor that the fuel injected intake came from as it has a collapsed piston. Thanks, Steve

I don't see why not. I have a friend who is using a set of vortec heads on a 67 camaro and he did the opposite. He used an old style intake (with angled center holes) with new style heads. He carefully modified the center holes on a drill press so that his intake was able to be used. You essentially want to do the same thing, but just the opposite. If you don't want to try this mod yourself, take the intake to a machine shop, and they should do it for you.
