Model = 1994 Dodge Ram 1500 Pickup 5.2 liter 2 wheel drive v8.

Problem = Rough idle shakey. Truck stalls when backing up in reverse or driving forward 5 mph or below.

So far i have replaced all the spark plugs ( splitfire ). Replaced air filter. Replaced all spark plug wires. Cleaned pvc valve. Battery is good @ 14 volts. All spark plugs are dry and have a spark but are a bit white.

I really dont want to take the truck into a shop because im low on money. If anyone has any ideas on what to do or try let me know.. thanks in advance.

I seem to remember reading somewhere that splitfire plugs don't run well in these trucks.

i stumbled upun a interesting guide. heres the link http://autorepair.about.com/library/faqs/bl654h.htm I guess the way you route the ignition wires has a effect on the way the plugs fire ?? what do you guys think about this.

I know it has an effect on it. The plug wires must be put back exactly where they were before you removed them. I mean exactly; the path makes a world of difference on how well the truck will run.

wow thats crazy.. it must be from the high voltage going through the fiber in the plug wires.. ill reroute them tomarrow and see what happens.. thanks

Besides 86ing the split fire plugs, your injectors may be dirty, the injector pump may be going out, your fuel filter may be plugged, your fuel pump may be having issues, there's several things. I'd call a couple auto mechanics, describe the problem and run that list of possibilities by them, they may be able to tell you better from there if it sounds familiar.

For the wires, make sure they all run parallel and don't cross. Bleed's right, put em back the way you found them (which from the factory is parallel). If your wires are old and shoddy, that could contribute also.
