Defroster Problem

Just bought an 89' Lebaron.

Not a mechanic, but with a little help hope to fix.

Problem:

When turned on the "defrost" setting, heat blows out the bottom (floor), but cold air blows out the top (defrost).

Any input will be appeciated.

get a manual, check the wires/cables/vacum tubes from the control panel to the heater box, sounds like an internal (inside the heater box) door is not moving
