Well this may make you think twice about the car, but the car has a tech 4 motor in it, which was rated in 1988 with about 98 hp and in 1990 at 110hp, they didn't change the motor set up, so i think it was underrated... The car puts out a good amount of torque, i forget the exact amount... BUT you can beat on those tech 4 motors... and they keep running... and they will shock other people on the road when you take off and pass them! (does not work with all cars, if you are racing) hehehe, I'll see if i can find out the rest for you though...

thanks for the help i think its way more than 110 hp and its probably terrible underated cause i can floor it and it will still peelout and its completely stock

btw do u know how i could figure out my quarter mile times if i give u some basic information

like i beat a coworkers tundra and here are the specs v8 245 hp 315lb.ft tourque and a curbweight of 4160

while my curbweight is 2875

i know this since i recently got it smoged what would my flywheel horsepower be to be able to beat the tundra
which i did beat at a redlight to 90 deal?

thanks for all ur help

I do think that these engines are underrated, since I've been able to do peel outs, and people look like what the hell? that POS did that? :eek7: HAHAHA Anyway, I got some info for you that i promised, Unfortunetly i pulled it from the web since i'm not at home to go through the papers i have if i have them so here it goes,

The 2.5L I4 4tech motor
110 hp @6000 rpm
135lb torque @3600 rpm
displacement 2474
borexstroke 4.00x3.00
Compression ratio 9.0:1

This is based on the 1990 G/A, I'm not sure on how to do quarter mile times, since everytime i've tried they come out way off ( not good in math at all) To me it doesn't ENTIRELY matter what you have under the hood, it's a matter of how you drive it... I smoked a 1999/2000 cougar, a friend of mine and he couldn't keep up with my little 4 banger 98 hp, against his v6 manual 160?hp! I've even kept up with the newer 175 hp G/a's they are hard to keep up with but i've done it. Some cases you are done for, others you can give someone a run for their for money.
