G20-Kiwi is back...

I have been away from Unitec for about 4 months so I havent been able to post on this forum.
My G20 is a bit rough at the moment, I managed to prang it and it runs like a dog...oh and the gearbox is nearly poked but when I get made redundant I can fix it. yay.
Can anyone tell me (because my connection is like 329bytes/sec and I cant be bothered) has anyone in Nz set up a website or a club for Primera/G20 owners. Last time I was on here there were a few guys talkin about it.

You wouldnt believe what I hit my car on, an armour plated wooden fence post, some genius bolted a steel plate that sticks out like 10mm from the post because it had been hit before, but I would have just cleared it if there wasnt a steel plate on it!

Also has anyone heard if you can turbo a non-turbo Primera and still use the standard computer someone mentioned it to me and he reckoned it would only cost about a grand including turbo and manifold.

Welcome back!!

prang....poked....must be a New Zeland thing...

If you use a bolt on Turbo kit, I believe you'll need a tuned ECU...If you do a DET swap, they usually come with an ECU, but check to make sure.

Prang = crash
Poked = euphemism for f****d

G20-KIWI, I had a lengthy conversation with a mechanic at Prestige last year about turbo. IIRC, they can do a LPT (light pressure turbo) without touching the computer.

I'd strongly recommend dyno testing if this is done to check ignition timing and fuel/air ratios aren't going to create a bomb.

They can do the required computer upgrades (LINK stand alone) if needed. Call in and have a yarn with them.;)
