2001-dash+central Panel Lights Not Working

Hello everyone,

My dash and central panel ligthts just stopped working yesterday.

I have checked every single fuse under the hood but they were all good. There are no fuses inside the car as on the previous models. I also disconected the batery for couple minutes and after I've pulled out the IOD fuse for another few minutes.

The lights went back on after pulling the fuse so I thought that the problem is solved but when I came back to the car later and tried it again they did not work. Even after repeating the thing with the fuse I have no dash lights anymore.

I went through this forum but did not find an answer. Some of the previous models had problems with lights flickering and calibrating the computer helped. Would this help in my case too?

I don't know what to do anymore and would really appreciate any help.
Thank You Jirka.

Could be the dimmer switch itself on the dash seeing that this controls both dash and central panel lights .

The thing is that I checked the power going into the dimmer switch (unplugged the conector and tested it for power) and it had no power.
What I don't understand is how come I didn't get any power at the connector but can still turn on the headlight and use the dimmer for odometr and gear display?

After trying everything I could think of, it turned out to be a broken wire.
What are the chances right? But the think is that I can finally see the dash again.
