Hey VW Enthusiasts:
I can't remove the wiper motor switch from my dashboard ('58 beetle).
Is there a special tool for getting the silver ring to pop loose from the dashboard and switch itself. The threaded tube for the knob/washer-fluid pump is stuck to the metal ring and therefore I can't get the switch out for repair or replacement.
Any instructions on how to remove this part from my dash?
Please advise.
Thanks,

The ring has two notches so that it can be unscrewed, releasing the switch to come out the back of the dash. A tool is available from specialty shops & I've seen one being sold on eBay for this purpose.
