Region Hack

A friend of mine has a 2000something odyssey. He has the stock in dash dvd player and was wondering if there is any way to make it play dvd's from every region. He said he has heard of a firmware upgrade you can burn to a cd and it will install itself. Anyone know anything about this? If not, does anyone know the brand/model number of it?

I have the 2005 Odyssey with DVD and Navigation.

The DVD is now playing only region 1. I want to make this DVD region free - so that it plays all regions. I have a lot of original collection - all in region 3.

Any help?
