Complete set of Autobarn GTRs available...

While I have your attention, does anyone have this Marlboro GTR photo seen in this auction photo for a resin model. I've never seen it before:

That kit is made by PM and is quite common here in Europe!
I don't like resin kits that much, they lack detail when studied closely!
And the effort building them....oh..man....!

That's definetly not a PM kit. I have the PM and the contents are totally different. Anyhow, my guess is it's a CGM, a new McLaren kit and is already sold out. Where did you find that pic? PM makes the best symetrical and base detailed bodies. Renaissance makes the best detail parts like rims, antenna's etc. Resin rules, plastic sucks and diecast is just plain ignorant to deal with. But that's just my opinion.

I am in the process of building the PM kit of the 1995 Gulf Mclaren, the body is anything BUT symmetrical, it took me a lot of work to get it to a point it actually 'looked' symmetrical.

On the other hand, I have to agree, that's not a PM kit.
Studio 27 did a Marlboro Mclaren kit, but I don't think that's a St27 either.

I found that image on the Japan Yahoo Auctions website. I've never seen that kit before either. It's not something I would buy, since I don't have the patience for even a plastic Tamiya-style model, much less one of these ultra intensive resin kits. I would like a scan of that photo though, since shots of the Marlboro-liveried GTRs are so rare.

I ran a web translator on the auction page, and it lists the item as: "CGM 1/43 kits Marlbolo McLaren F1 GTR ZUHAI 1996"

The same seller is listing: "CGM 1/43 kits LARK McLaren F1 GTR JGTC 1996"

CGM Productions appears to be a French company, but I don't believe I have seen their McLaren kits before.

Well, I suppouse you're right about that manufacturer as I can't say I'm any kind of expert in 1/43 resin kits.
However a german seller has provided that exact kit for many weeks and usually sells for 100-150 Euros.
I can assure you that if you have the equipment for remodeling die-casts, resin models don't even come close!
I have several resin-Ferraris in 1:18 from MG and ADS racing, they're good , but will never have the edge and awesome detail of diecasts like Exoto & Autoart!

That price tag on the CGM of 100-150 is about right where I've seen them priced. They are 1/43rd. Not to pick a fight with Thorst, but I will admit Exoto has brought die cast to a new level, there is no way in hell any diecast will ever be as detailed or well assembled as a professionally built kit. For one major difference, door hinges on a die cast, giant globs of innaccurate metal. And to freakray, I said PM was the best symetrical , not perfect. Show me a more perfect resin kit more symetrical and I'll buy 100 because there isn't a better more symetrical resin McLaren out there. I have them all (Except the CGM)
