Hello all,

I recently found out that there are two switches in my car that I don't know what they do. The are right above the pedals and right next to the computer plug. They are two red stick switches and they are currently set to OFF. Does anyone has any idea on what these switches do? Thanks in advance!

If you purchased the car used, I would say the previous owner had an aftermarket alarm/remote start combo installed. One switch would be for the remote start disable, the other would be rof the alarm system overide. If you take the panel off you should be able to trace the wires back to the unit.

thank you all for the suggestions,

It turned out as "Forkliftguy" said to be a remote starter. I'm so excited now, cuz I've had the car for 6 months now and today at last to find out that I can start my car remotely.

thanks again.

If you get find where the unit is located the make and model of the unit should be on it, you can then go to a place that supplies that brand of remote starter and get a couple of key fobs for it. They should also be able to program them to the unit for you and "voila", you'll have a nice warm car in the winter.

The thing is that it already works. When I bought the car I've probably missed the fact that it can start remotely cuz it already works with my current key fob. It's just that the switches were turn OFF and the button that's used to start the car didn't work. So, I turned them ON today and I was amazed when the engine kicked and started running.

Thanks you! Appreciate it. This is too good of a fact to be missed, especially when the winter is almost here and especially if you live in Chicago, like me.

Thanks again!
