I have a break planned from 4th March to 13th...Where should I go? Got any ideas on places to get away.
I was thinking QLD would be good, but alas, I'm not sure whether I should be splurging considering I haven't had any final words about what is happening at work.
Anyone know of any good remote spots to get away, go to the beach or whatever.
Another options is maybe head down to jervis bay. ofcourse can't take my car.
Might end up veging at home, or taking short trips here, and there.

Hahahahahaha :D
I'd suggest Fremantle. WA is absolutely awesome and Fremantle and Perth are fantastic. Head down to the Karie forests off Pemberton, or up past Geraldton to Monkey Mia. Fanatastic beaches, especially if you go out to Rottnest. If you do go, there are some great places to relax at and the weather is fantastic.
Of course, it depends if money is an issue :)

WA sounds good...but probably not viable at this stage.
Might just go for day trips :)

I found that heading up into the mountains is fun. Day trips or two day trips up past Katoomba are always relaxing.

Damn, I'd forgotten about Jenolan... it must be over 12 years since I last went there I think but I used to love the tours out there.
There's always plenty of fun places in NSW to head out to... I always dig out my touring atlas to see what's good :)

Yep, and there is also Jervis Bay too!
Still havent been on that camping trip it got cancelled, well postpone to next week by my cousin....and he told my sister, so that I'd have a better chance of going next week.
I was like ummmmmm??????? perhaps he should have consulted with me first to see if I was working. Can't swap days off, already asked for the following weekend off. Go figure  Although he has been acting a bit weird lately, and I'm still a bit pissy at him. Former best friend and he forgot my birthday

Ouch... former best freind before or after he forgot? I have to write birthdays down otherwise I'd forget them too... fortunately my best friend's not into celebrating b'days... part of her religion I understand... then again, she's head over heels at the moment, so the friendship isn't as full on as it was... understandable somehow :)

We've been best friends the last few years since my grandmother past away. He helped me heaps through the crap I went through in Uni. We've grown apart the last year or so, because I'm working when he's off, and he's been getting into rockclimbing.
don't get how he can tell my sister that its more important for me to make the camp, so he postpones it to next week, but doesn't even check to see if I'm off
I've got a few best friends, but seriously the last year....he has no idea the amount of times I've been annoyed at him
I sent him messages yesterday saying it was too hard to organise with about 5 different people, and told him another time. Sent me a message today apologising and saying he already organised climbing for sunday.
I didn't reply. Not happy Jan
Oh, and don't ever ask me "what's up?"
I hate it when you call someone and thats how they reply. My cousin started doing this at one stage, and it used to infuriate me, because it would always imply, get the point and get off the phone.

Trust me...u don't want to say that in person.
Speaking of the cousin..... I sent him a couple sms yesterday stating how I thought it was a bit contradictory about the whole camp thing, and how I was disappointed about him forgetting my B'day. He attempted to call me last night, I missed the phone call because I was in the other room getting a panadol - really bad migraine. Wasn't feeling too good, and was really crappy! Stress of everything lately :bloated: Yeah...so didn't call him back. Was in a shocker of a state, and no mood to talk. So now...he's probably thinking I missed the call on purpose, and don't want to speak to him....oh well he probably feels more guilty. Also had a missed call this morning from a private number...don't know who...unless it was him, trying to be sneaky

Its a bummer about costs to WA being much higher. Tas is about $370 return I believe

East coast is usually cheap. WA was 670 return last I looked, but Ansett is gone (thanks a lot Air NZ :( ) so the prices will prolly be a lot more. Thought about driving over? It's only about 4000 km :D

Not to mention the salt flats. :) I remember flying out of Perth and seeing the areas there and wondering how long a car would last. Not long I'm guessing :)
Actually, I don't know whether they were near roads, but all I could see was huge salt deposits here and there.
Ok, I'll stop rambling :p

When we went to Adelaide on the Sturt hwy almost 10 years ago
there were so many dead rabbits. I stopped counting once I got to like 300, but there were thousands all over the road, plus the regulars such as foxes, wombats, kangaroos.
Need a 4WD for exploring. And yours doesn't count :silly2: :hehe:

You said it yourself that you've grown apart, so how can you rightfully expect that he will remember when he is off in the wilderness like he was on that weekend? Especially since we both know that he'd forget his own head if it wasn't screwed on. It's been over a month, so it is a bit petty to lay this on him now. If you had issues with it, you shoulda told him back then. Just like with the other issues you have. If his habit of saying "What's up?" annoys you, than address it with HIM first and not the general public. You've got most things wrong with him. Don't assume. I learnt the hard way myself that "Assumption is the mother of all f*%kups".
Yes, i do know that work has stressed you and other things as well but you really need to see things from other peoples perspectives as well, especially the people that love you.
I'm going to end this here out of love and respect and will talk to you about this later.
Back to the topic,
I've just taken a few days off for next week. I wouldn't mind doing the Byron Bay fang but I'm sure mum won't be too happy to be cramped in the back of a hatch for 8 hours... might have to bring along seasick tablets for her :D
so whatcha reckon we do a couple of days around the Barringtons?? Everyone i've spoken to has said it's very nice and relaxing up there and we can do the plughole tour at Jenolan on the way back... otherwise South West Rocks for some fishing/camping... i think we've down the south to death.
Check your outlook if you haven't already for an update on the City

Heheh... 4 1/2 years and I start getting long service leave on top of my regular holidays :D
That's why I was soooo disappointed we didn't get offered redundancy :(

First few days spend at home sleeping....maybe catch up with Tx2. Towards end of week, mum and sister is off work, so head up north probably to Barrington Tops area, do all the national parks - walks, etc, and head past Jenolan caves on the way back, and do the adventure caving...probably..... rest of time lounging at home....Maybe I call you if I get bored..we go cruising....
Oh, and there might be a PF cruise on March 17 to the gong....I'm considering going...if they would post some details....but nothing much further yet.

Yeah I saw that on the PF forums... but I'm not too sure about the bent-8 and rotary mentality there :D
I have plans to do Jenolan Caves in the holidays. I used to love going there and the tours were fantastic. :) I did it a while back with friends and we did 2 days worth.

If its on, I'll probably go, and then go visit one of my best friends Kelly and catch up that day. Can't do it this coming weekend as she's in Newcastle.
The have a special adventure caving, where you dress up in the full get up, (mining) style suit, and crawl through caves, etc...that's what we're planning on doing :)

Sounds really cool... Jenolan was expensive last time I went and I doubt it's got cheaper but damn the caves are worth the cost :)

I wouldn't pay to go there either. I miss Luna Park though :)
I drove past on my round trip of the west today... down Walgrove rd and then past wetherill park and smithfield. I did a detour past the old house I lived in at smithfield - it had been torn down and replaced. The whole street looked different,
Wally land just looked like crap as I went past. :p

funny how people tear down old houses, put in the new, and everything looks out of place.
Luna park....gee I remember going there.

Yeah, the houses just looked wrong. Too cramped I think.
