BMW 328i alpina B6 *Progress*

Hi guys,

I shared a recently completed model with you so i fugured i whould share a recent birth of a new project. Paint is razzberry pearl by house of kolor, Still needs to be cleared with house of kolor urathane clear. I scratch built a new intake out of aluminum and styrene. enjoy.

DO I detect a his and hers type ride goin on here?? Once again, very nice work.
How is the flash on your model? I shelved mine since I spent more time removing excess flash than I expected. I'll get back to it eventually.

The flash was awfull, I was triming for hours, And i was sanding the lumps in the plastic down for hours also. This is one im getting ready for next years contest, So expect to see it and alot of other stuff to.

I decided to carbon the hood, It is my first time useing carbon decals, I have tried before but i always failed but this time i used some decal set, and it worked perfect. Enjoy.

Hey guys,

Small set back, Dumb me forgot to mix hardener in the clear, Thus it never hardened, So it took a bath,lol. I'm going to re-paint it sunday morning and get it in clear by sunday evening. Then mask and do the window rubbers and paint will be done. Then i got to run fule lines, Heater hoses, And the radiator hose. I whould also like to wire the engine, So any refferance pics of the bmw 2.8 stright six will be very very helpfull. Thanks.

I finished up the re-paint and clear today, I rigged up a make shift paint booth so i wasent getting any dust in my clear, It looks really good this time around. I'm gonna get all the detial painting monday afternoon and get some mock up pics for you guys. Hopefully i can get some referance pics soon to, I have been looking everywhere and cant seem to get a good motor shot.

I'm still fixing the carbon hood, I need to paint the edges black and fix a edge thats starting to peel. These will be the last pics for a while, As of tonite i no longer have a computer, So i will update at the libary, But they wont let me upload pics.

Nice Color very Shiny Iam still waiting for my Dragon M3 kit to come in. Question Will you be leave the side moldings the color of the car or are you going to paint them black ????

I might leave them, Or i might do them in chrome to add a bit of "Bling", I still need to mask off the black window rubbers and paint them.

Boy am i glad to get the painting out of the way,lol. As you can see i took the advice of another member and painted the window rubbers, It is my first time masking it all off and hiting it with black though my airbrush. I am very happy with the results. I still need to run the fule lines on the chassis, And make some hose's for the motor. I will start on the suspenion in the morning. Later guys.

To be honest i just practice alot, I also dont think twice about buying expensive paint, I belive with paint "You get what you pay for" a $60 paint is going to be better than a $4 paint, Get me? I use only house of kolor urathane paints. I know alot of you guys on here use tamiya paints, But for those of you who have never used house of kolor paints, I will give you one huge hint, Do not try to cover in one coat, House of kolor is a very "Hot" paint the oarnge peel will not only be in the paint, But it will etch itself into the plastic. 3-4 coats in thin layers 5 minutes in-bettween. I just dont want some of you newer modelers spending your money on expensive paint and then ruining you model by useing the paint wrong. Have a night/day guys.

Beautiful paint Robert. You also used House of Kolor clear coat? or did you not use clear coat at all?

$60 paint? I have a hard time beleiving it's $56 better than Tamiya spray. Or $53 dollars better than a jar of Cobra Colors, which I've seen used here with incredible results.

Great looking model, though, looks fantastic. I really do dig the color and the paint looks very good.

Please excuse my spelling, But my price on the paint is over-exagerated(sp?). But i usually spend about $70-80 for small ammounts of several colors, In my oppinion its the best, It works best for me, Thats not to say something else is the best for someone else, Get what im saying? To who asked if i used house of kolor clear yes i did, i used house of kolor urathane paints and house of kolor urathane clear. I have tried other paints, Cobra colors, Ppg, plastikote, duplicolor, But house of kolor worked best for me. Btw some of you may be looking at a site called blackgoldweb.com for house of color paints, i dont buy the model car paint i buy the real auto paint in the big 1qt cans, thats why its expensive.

well i couldnt afford it, but if i could i wouldnt hesitate for a second, great work man, best shine ive seen to date !!!
