I read a post here a while ago about removing an 11mm bolt on the column that allowed it to telescope out of the way to get to the driver side center spark plug. I can't find the bolt nor the post again. Can who ever mentioned this please repeat?

I found the old thread. Rlith wrote:
Easiest thing is to remove the 11mm bolt at the bottom of the intermediate shaft and just telescope it into itself and move it out of the way. Access to all plugs. Takes me about 15 mins to do all 6

I haven't verified this myself yet, but will try it this afternoon on my 95

Easiest thing is to remove the driver's side tire and use two extensions and an elbow and shoot it through the wheel well.

Moving the steering columm turned out to be easy. What a time saver this will be. The 11 mm bolt Rlith mentioned was hidden under a black plastic cover where the shaft attached to the gear box. The wheels should be straight to see it. Be sure to remove bolt completely, not just loosen it. The column will then slide up and can be moved away to provide clearance for the spark plug change. You can also angle the shaft off to the side and then completely slide it out, leaving a short stub at the firewall. Thanks Rlith!

I do the tire removal with a long extension. Seems the simplest to me.
