Focus Converting

ElRxBandito
10-30-2004, 05:40 PM
Well, I noticed I was tearing down a focus and throwing a conversion at it in the past week or so, so now I can pay a little bit more attention to it seeing as I'm still sketching ideas for my Silvia, and waiting on plumbing for my Nismo Z, so here's my side project focus plans.

Custom Body Kit. (sorta done)
Integra Front End. (done)
K20A Motor Swap. (ready)
Tail Light Conversion. (unknown)
Custom Interior. (planning stage)
And Maybe a Spcial Door Opening Technique.
(suicide, gullwing, a-pillar, etc...)

I'll take some snaps and post them if this project shows interest.

So, I hope it goes over well. :D

well, two is enough for me :D
Colorwise I'm looking into Orange, or a custom Stoplight Candy Apple Red I made.
But I'll take snaps as soon as I find my digital camera memory card.

Well here they are, not much was missed so far
all I did was cut the old front end off, gutted it,
cleaned up and customized the body kit, and added the
Integra nose.
Here's the snaps. Enjoi.

Anyone have any reccomendations on taillights?

ElRxBandito

It just dawned on me, that some people may not know what the K20A is, so I'll explain.
The K20A is a 2.4 DOHC iVtec Engine, bred for use in the Honda Integra R (01-04), the Acura RSX (01-04), the Honda Civic Si (01-04), and the Honda CRV (01-04), it cranks about 154pr rating.

So what are you planning on doing for a chassis?

mike@af
10-31-2004, 08:47 AM
Im not a fan of the Farcus, but the front bumper swap changes its stance. Now all it needs is to be really clean, and have some trick smooth taillights.

BTW, I love the jack stands.

Celica Tails would look good.
BTW nice job converting it.

why would you put a Honda motor in a Ford?

hey just to let u know K20s are 2.0l. all honda motors are classifed by a letter followed by there displacment. other examples of this can be found in all B and H series motors, like the 1.8l B18, the 1.6 B16 and the 2.2l H22

Alright, so far I reshaped the front wells, because the teg nose didnt match perfectly, and Celica tails might look really good, and the chassis, I'm not 100% sure, but I'll think of something when I get around to it, and the Honda Motor in a Ford, simply because it's going a 1 of a kind car, the only thing ford about it will be the body, I'll make a poll of lights I have to choose from.

ElRxBandito
10-31-2004, 05:14 PM
I'm also thinking about making the hatch be a two peice, the top half open up, and the bottom open down like a tailgate.

pre98zetec
10-31-2004, 05:33 PM
the CRV from 02 up is K24.

ElRxBandito
10-31-2004, 06:44 PM
oh, I just seen under the hood of one quickly and seen what looked like a 2.4l K20, thanks for filling me in though :D

pre98zetec
11-01-2004, 04:25 AM
You seem confused. K20, is not a 2.4 liter. Rather 2.0 liter.

Honda motors go by the numbers in the motor code, K20= 2.0 liter, K24= 2.4 liter.

i wouldve done a focus RS conversion on a the regular old zx3. instead...you went with an integra front end?!? and a honda motor?!?!? you know.....you coulve thrown a v6 or v8 in there. a friend of mine has a zx3 with a v6 out of a cougar.

Hmm... R34 tails might look nice. Or the supra ones
at an angle maybe?

nismo_power
11-17-2004, 02:17 AM
r34 tails wont work on a hatchback.

Camber
11-17-2004, 06:13 PM
I beg to differ. Theres a civic hatchback somewhere
with them that looked good to me ..

nismo_power
11-18-2004, 02:02 AM
r34 tail light assemplies are one peice. they wont work on a hatch. you can have the afterburner style tailights with a bit of custom work, but r34 lights will not.

NOMADGAMER

you can do anything your mind imagines.

hell the car is 1/2 ford and 1/2 honda, that would NEVER happen in real life either

its his model, even tho i severly disagree with his combo of parts, its his model to create whatever he wants with it...

Alright, Here's an update, my computer has a virus, and doesnt, work, and the Focusis still under way, here's a list of where I am, hood is made, supra tail lights, backhatch split, mass amounts of stereo equipment, and it's really low. sorry no pictures.(yet)...

ElRxBandito
11-22-2004, 08:04 PM
Score, the virus is gone, and I bought a laptop, just waiting for my net connection, alright, Now I can post pictures seeing as I have my computer back, and have made quite a bit of progress on the interior, so I'll take some snaps, and post them asap.

Well, here's were I stand now, I had the taillights
in at an angle, but it looked really wrong, so they're
level at the base of the lower hatch.

Here's the hatch open bottom opens down, top opens up.
revealing the subs hiding behind it.

Just another snap of the front end showing the cut wells.

Subs hiding in the rear.

Put the K20A in there, the SVT Cobra motor in a Focus has already been done in real life. Rear wheel drive and all.

Yes, and it rocked. Why not make a diecast of it? The K20 gets in everything, give it a rest.
