97 Explorer, I hear the blower but no air

After 1/2 hour or so air ceases to come through the vents. I can hear the blower but that's it. It happens for both heat and AC. The rear blower continues to work fine. Everything works fine when the car is first started. What could cause it to fail consistently after 1/2 hour?
