My wife needs a new vehicle for her 40 mile trek to work in the ND winter. She likes the rorra but i know better. I was thinking maybe an outback, a fullsize chev, or anything with a 3800. what has everone had good or bad luck with.

Your on this board saying you no better that to buy an Aurora? You can't seriously compare the ride to an Outback. The Aurora is a big, heavy car with frontwheel drive and traction control. It really is a pleasure to drive in the winter. No need for four wheel drive unless that's what you really want.
The 3800 is a good motor, but it's no NorthStar.

How about a Bravada? More Olds 'fun' & comfort plus ability to tow the Aurora short distances.
