95 clutch Problem

My son has a 95 2.2. After depressing clutch, it ENGAGES after barely letting up on the pedal from the floor. I've removed the small plastic plug near the slave cyclinder on the trannie and it appears that the rod that depresses the throwout bearing arm doesn't travel far enough to fully dissingage the clutch/pressure plate. I've bled the lower slave cyclinder, but don't see a similar bleed screw on the upper master cyclinder? There are no leaks in the system. I replaced the entire system about 4 years ago.

The throwout bearing is a little noisy but the clutch does not slip. It seems as though the hydraulic system should depress the clutch AT LEAST far enough to where it should not engage until the pedal is released at least 1/3 of the full travel from the floor!

Added......I bled the hydraulic system completely! The clutch still engages/dissingages almost at the floor. Unless my logic is wrong. if the pressure plate was worn, it would engage/dissengage further (sooner)from the floor than originally designed to do!. There's no way to make any adjustments to have the cyclinder push the rod in further, thereby dissenging the pressure plate sooner?????????????

the clutch master cylinder can only produce so much travel. as the clutch disc and pressure plate wear it takes more pedal travel to dissengauge the clutch. you have used up all the travel the master cylinder can produce so unfortunetly your clutch disc and pressure plate are worn to there limits. high clutch pedal=new clutch and low clutch pedal=worn clutch. good luck!
p.s. tell your son to stop side stepping the clutch. its a truck! lol :)

Have you checked the clutch fluid?
