Shift Kit

i just finished installing my Transgo kit, and WOW what a difference it made. it was a horrible nightmare getting the pan in and out because of my long-tubes. didn't help that i got the pan gasket backwards on the first try and had to get it out all over again... but i'm thinking it was worth it. the gears seem to shift at higher rpms now, which is fine for all except 4th (overdrive). anyway, i highly reccomend this kit to anyone thinking of beefing up their stock AOD.

Told you it was worth it! Much better than those B&M shift kit improver junk 1's

before the kit it kinda slid into gear lazily... now it's like a POP. i love it. too bad the first test drive had to be in the rain, and i never got to hear it chirp the tires.

How did you adjust the TV cable.... did you use a pressure guage?
Also go underneath the car and manually put it in OD. Then go on the high way and see if it will go into OD should, around 45-55mph with moderate gas. This will allow us too eliminate if when moving the TV cable you messed up the gear selector set-up.

Transgo will cause problems on the 96- now trans. Go to www.tccoa.com and read the tech section Transmissions 101 or the Jmod. He also has info for your AOD-E I believe. This is the preferred shift kit that you will read about on Corral.net and all the other Stang Sites.
Allot of people will say how great the Transgo is is then you will see a post a few months later crying about losing their trans. This is no Bullsh%t. It has something to do with the way Transgo goes about it and messing with the Electronics. The Article was written by one of the engineers on Fords Trans Staff. I have now 30,000 miles on mine. It hits hard for 15ft of rubber in second and a quick 3rd shift with my anemic 97 NPI motor.

Interesting site I couldn't find the Trans-GO AOD-E thing you were talking about.
But he has an AOD so it's not 96-up so it isn't even and issue here.

actually, the reason i fried my AOD is because i didn't have the TV cable set properly, and i tried to drive it on the freeway. but now the car's been converted to a t-5 trans, so no more automatic problems for me!
