Remote keyless entry 96 Blazer LT

I just purchase a 1996 Blazer. It has electric door locks but did not come with a Remote. Is it affordable to add this option?

I have seen remotes on eBay but am not sure if it is possible to use them on my car. As far as I know the car never had the remote option but I'm not sure.
