I have 2001 Silverado and was replacing the radion antenna. I found the wire behind the Glovebox in the corner and unlpluged it to the antenna. When I pulled the wire out from the outside the wire going to the radio fell back behind the dash. Any easy way to get back there. There is a grid with foam that I removed all the srews I could but it only moves a little. Any help would be appreciated

Sounds like a good excuse to go XM to me!

get a kid with skiny arms to fish the wire out. one other way is a coat hanger and some puty. put a ball of silly pudy on the end and smash it on the wire then pull up easy. a inspection mirror should help you see the wire.

Well, I guess that I am dusting off an old thread because I am in this situation now. I am trying to change the antenna out on my 2001 2500HD Pick-up. The antenna on my truck broke requiring a new masl & new base. The wire fishes through the firewall into the truck behind the glovebox. I taped a small wire to the old antenna wire and pulled it through into the engine compartment, then taped the new antenna cable to the wire and tried to pull it back through the firewall. The tape caused the wire to bind and I was not able to get the new cable pulled into the cab. Any suggestions out there? Thanks in advance.........

My antenna broke off also...I went to a car audio place and bought an amplified am/fm antenna and stuck it to the right window pillar...the hardest part was figuring out where to pick up the 12v from but that was pretty easy once I found my 12v trouble light. The new antenna works as good if not better then the stock one.
This is similar to what I have:

Just make sure you get the adapter from the large Motorola plug to the small one for your radio.
