I think that the cold air intakes for sale on ebay should work with it.

You could just buy a silicone coupler or 2 and make one work if the throttle body is too small. I did it with my CX, had to use 2 couples doubled up to get it to fit, but it works.

I would be interested in finding out what the throttle body does, and how does replacing it make your car faster?

Let me see if I can describe this correctly. If you look in the hole you'll see a flat plate. When you push on the gas it pulls the trottle cable, which is connected to that plate, and opens the trottle body up to suck air in. So basically when you push on the gas pedal it's pushing a certain amount of gas into the engine as well as opening up the throttle body to pull a certain amount of air in. Say you push the pedal down half way, the plate will only be half way up (bottom going up and the top going down). So with a bigger T-body, there is more room and diameter (think that's the right word; kids stay in school) for air to be pulled into than with a stock one. More air = more power. Of course you have to watch out for the Air/Fuel ratio, because if you add more air but not enough gas to match then your motor will run like ass. If you have a small stock SOHC motor then more than likely the stock T-body will be enough.

My next upgrade will be the cold air intake. After that I'm gonna get a high flow fuel pump along with a new ECU (to add more fuel). I still have to stock D16A6. After all of that is done, should I consider getting a new throttle body?

I wouldn't go too big if you did get one, maybe see if the d16z6 or the d16y8 ones are a little bigger. Also I'd get an AFC instead of a new ECU, you'll be able to tune it better and more specifically with that.

roughly how much are AFCs?

Last time I checked around $250-300. E-bay is the cheapest I saw them. It's been a few months since I looked though.

***be careful w/ the high flow fuel pumps. I've heard of LOTS burning up the wiring because they draw too much power through them. If you do get a high flow fuel pump, make sure to get an upgraded wiring kit also. just trying to save you some headaches. I've heard of one burning out in less and an hour (just as an example). ***

as far as i know z6 and y8 tb's cant be used on other d series intake manifolds, but can be used with B series manifolds. But dont quote me on that.

I know the z6 can, I know people who have put them on their DX motors before (this is '92-'95 engines though). But yeah I guess chances are the hole on the T-body might be bigger than the manifold's hole; and then you'd have to get into porting the manifold. Maybe it's not such a good idea after all.

About the throttle body for an A6 intake manifold; yeah a z6 won't fit it. I tried putting a B18A throttle body on an A6 manifold and it did not fit. However I also tried it on a Z6 manifold and it fit like a glove. As for the Y8 throttle body, I would imagine it would either be the same as the Z6 or different still.

Performance and HF dont belong in the same sentence. I think what you wanted to know was "does anyone make a cool shiny air intake pipe for my 8 valve fuel economy D15B6?"

there is no way in hell an AFC is better than a programmed ECU.

how do you figure an AFC isn't better than a programmed ECU? All he's doing is adding a new fuel pump and CAI. You really need a new chipped ECU for that? If he said he was going for a cam or higher compression pistons too, then of course a chipped ecu would be better. I figure why waste the $ to have to get it chipped and then have it tuned, for just adding more fuel and air. The AFC would work just fine with what he's doing.
